Dry Skin After A Hot Shower or Bath? No Problem!

Hey everyone,

This time we're gonna talk a little more about some skincare.

We've all experienced the dry skin after taking a hot shower or bath. And those who have dry skin are prone to get more irritation.

What causes the dry skin after a shower/bath?

Whilst your soaking up the water it cleans your skin completely. It's strips off all the dirt, sweat and oils. So once you're out of the bath/shower the water evaporates leaving your skin without any protection.

If you use a bar of soap to cleanse, it will dry your skin out even more. What you can do is use a soap like Dove Nourishing Cream Bar or the one with Shea Butter. Also you could try the body wash by Dove. Make sure that it contains moisturizing ingredients like oils and shea butter.

When you love baths, then you must love bath salts. Now some of these salts will strip your skin off its own moisture. Bath salts are great for a full cleanse, but try and use it once a week instead of every day.

Also bath milks are amazing for dry skin. The milk will nourish your skin, leaving it super soft and moisturized.
An inexpensive brand would be Palmolive, they have a vast range of bath milks for different skin types, and they all smell really good.

Lush has a nice range on bath melts such as the DreamTime Bath Melt and You've Been Mangoed. They have ingredients that will soothe your skin and moisturize it as well.

After you get out of the bath/shower, use a moisturizer straight away. Your pores open in warm water and since its stripped off everything, its ready to absorb whatever you put on it.

I use a body butter by The Body Shop, which is the Almond Body Butter. It's more on the pricey side since it costs £12 a tub, but it will last for a really long time. Also a little tip would be to stock up when it's on sale. I bought mine on sale for £7.50, it came with the almond shower gel.

Also a cheaper option would be to buy the Palmer's Cocoa Butter. They have a vast range on cocoa butter. If you like the extra nourishment for your skin I would suggest buying the Cocoa Butter with Shea Butter.

You can also try generic body butters and body lotions from drugstores like SuperDrug and Boots. They are a lot more affordable and do the same thing.

An all time favourite would be Nivea. It has always been at the top for moisturizers. So you can't go wrong with Nivea.

So these are just a few tips to make sure that you don't have dry skin. Hope this helps, and let us know if you have any requests.
